filling

You can use different types of vegetables, sprouts, meat or tofu for the filling. Everything is possible. We used:

  • 2 carrots
  • 1/2 red pepper
  • 1 pak choi
  • 3 spring onions
  • some broccoli
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • Tofu (marinated with garlic and ginger and fried)
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce

Bao dough

  • 1 can of coconut milk
  • 1 can of flour (the size of the coconut milk can)
  • 1 can of flour with 1 1/2 tablespoons of baking powder and 2 pinches of salt
  • 1 pinch of salt

    filling

    Cut all the ingredients into small pieces. Fry them, add the soy sauce and let it simmer for 5 minutes.

    Bao dough

    Mix all the ingredients and knead the dough well. Roll the dough and cut it into 12 pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and flatten it. They should be the size of your hand. Put about 2 tablespoons of the filling in the middle and close all sides at the top. Put the Baos in a bamboo steamer and let them steam for about 12 minutes.
