Davos

Oct. 17, 2019

About 150 km southeast of Zurich the small village of Davos is located, framed by mighty mountains. If you like winter sports, you will come here fully at your expense. But Davos is also worth a visit for everyone else.

Even if life here is a little more expensive, as in almost all ski areas, you can take great leisure time activities. Or you can explore the village on foot - it is not that big. On the mountains you have a wonderful view of the valley, whether as a skier or hiker. And after a day of activities, you can end the evening with a hot chocolate or some Swiss cheese.

The World Economic Forum is annually held in a conference center in Davos.

As an EU citizen you can stay in Switzerland for 90 days without a visa but you need a valid passport or identity card. For non-EU citizens, entry requirements vary according to citizenship and entry reason.

    The greatest wealth is health.

When entering Switzerland, the standard vaccinations are sufficient. EU citizens are covered by the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC). It regulates the supply in case of illness, but does not replace the travel insurance.

Food for the body is not enough. There must be food for the soul.

Of course, if you are in Switzerland, you have to eat cheese and chocolate. Other typical dishes are Zurich sliced meat and hash browns.

    how to get around

In Switzerland, the public transport is very good, but especially in more remote areas you should rent a car. The connection to ski resorts is very good, but also limited to larger stops. With a car you are more flexible. In summer I recommend you to rent a bike. So you can explore the area and also do something for your health.
