Paris

Paris - the city of love and fashion. Not for nothing is it called that way. In Paris I could just sit for hours in a café and watch the goings on. Of course with a croissant or crêpe in front of me. This city simply has a very special and own flair.

There are plenty of sights here, but it‘s all these little streets and shops and cafés that make Paris so enchanting. Although the metro system is very confusing, it is the best way to see the city. If possible you should also walk a bit between the sights. One discovers something very special everywhere.

As a German, you can enter with a valid passport and a valid identity card. In order to avoid any problems, I would recommend to always travel with the passport.

If you travel to France, you must definitely be vaccinated against measles. WHO has declared that omitting the vaccine as a „threat to global health“. However, no vaccinations are required when entering from Germany. The standard vaccinations are definitely always recommended.

The food in France is absolutely amazing. There are typical dishes like Soupe à l’oignon (soup with a lot of onions), Coq au vin, Ratatouille, Quiche Lorraine, Cheese Fondue and Beef bourguignon. But the best part of French food is the dessert. There are delicious things like Chocolate soufflé, croissants and crêpes. As you see, you will always find something delicious to eat.

You can get around by taxi or bus, but the easiest way is to get around by the metro. You can get to every sight of Paris really fast. If you want to experience the real Paris, you have to walk these little streets, sit down in a cute little cafe and watch the people passing by.

Paris is located in the temperate climate zone. The winters are relatively mild, the summers not too hot. Between May and October is the best time to go to Paris. Especially the spring is highly recommended.

In Paris you pay with Euro. You can change money and withdraw at vending machines. In more rural areas, paying with a credit card is not so common, but often possible. However, it is always good to have some cash with you.
